Signature Events Will Celebrate Canadian Culture and Global 4-H

As plans are coming together for the global 4-H community’s second gathering, the Global 4-H Network Summit team is excited to announce more details for the Evening Signature Events.

Capping off each day of the Summit, these evening events will be an opportunity for Summit delegates, partners and stakeholders to come together and celebrate 4-H while also experiencing Canadian culture at a variety of Ottawa venues.

Here’s some more detail on what you can expect.


The Grand Hall in the Canadian Museum of History houses the largest indoor collection of totem poles in the world.

An Evening of Canadian Culture, Canadian Museum of History, July 11

Held in the Grand Hall of the Canadian Museum of History, delegates will receive an official Ottawa and Canadian welcome and learn about the history of the Grand Hall, Ottawa Region, and its people. You will be able to admire the largest indoor collection of totem poles in the world, enjoy traditional Aboriginal dance and music performances and satisfy your craving for traditional Canadian fare.

Global 4-H Network High-Level Dinner, Shaw Centre, July 12

Around the world, 4-Hers take great pride in showcasing their heritage and celebrating their traditions. On this evening, delegates will join special invited guests, including dignitaries and industry partners, for a regional reception, followed by dinner and some special presentations. This will be a celebration of 4-H’s diverse, global reach and we are encouraging delegates to wear their national dress to this event.

Night in the Country, Canada Agriculture & Food Museum, July 13

4-H-Member-with-horseKick up your boots, we’re heading out to the farm for a fun Night in the Country! The Canada Agriculture & Food Museum will be open to delegates and guests to tour and view the exhibits, take a horse-drawn wagon ride around the only operating farm in a global capital city, and check out what our local 4-H clubs are doing.

A limited number of tickets will also be available for the public to purchase and attend this event alongside Global 4-H Network Summit delegates.

4-H Under the Big Top, University Place, July 14

Did you know? 4-H’ers have talent! 4-H delegates will be invited to showcase their own talents and reflections on an incredible week during this fun, wrap-up party under the stars. Canadian 4-H alumna and Olympian, Cristy Nurse will offer parting words as you say good-bye to new friends and prepare to venture back home with new ideas and action plans to change the world!
